The Wonderful Tool of Article Marketing

Posted in Marketing on June 1st, 2010 by Admin – Comments Off

Someone said long ago- “A pen is mightier than the sword”. I would like to rephrase in the present context of the internet era- “A Keyboard is mightier than the sword”. If you are a businessman offering products either online or offline, and you have been asleep to the power of  writing so far, it is time you wake up and wake up fast. Article marketing is one of the most powerful tools of online marketing and we all know what effective online marketing can do for our business. But like every other tool that we humans have invented, article marketing too needs to be used judiciously and effectively. One should know certain unspoken rules and regulations of the wonderful tool called article marketing.

  • Focus on Providing Information- The reason for the success of article marketing is that articles provide information. People are constantly looking for information on various products and services. And with the advent of the internet, this information is readily available to them 24/7. So, the article needs to be informative in order to fetch the traffic you want. For example- if you have a website on branded watches. Now, an article which is hard selling your collection of watches would do no good because it would be more like an ad. Instead, if your article talks about various brands of watches, their pros and cons etc. and then gives a link to your website, chances are that the user would read your article diligently and visit the link too. read more »

Want to generate more page views for your articles? Sure, more traffic is always good. But do you know that some marketers can be making much more money with their articles?

The mistake they make is that they write articles that are way too general. I’m sure you have read about how specific keywords can help you generate more page views. But I’m not talking about keywords here. I’m talking about a lack of focus. From the content, I get the impression that these marketers don’t know who their target customers are. So the articles they write are never focused. It’s more like shooting blindly in the dark. They are hoping some articles will work and eventually bring them some customers.

Will they get sales using such a loose approach? With large enough numbers, some articles will bring in a few buyers. But not much. It’s such a waste because every article requires time to create. And since these marketers are already spending time creating the content, why not make more money with every article that they write?

You can easily generate a lot more sales if you know how to focus. Know EXACTLY who your target readers are. Take a look at the target groups below. read more »

Promoting Your Company at Business Conferences

Trade shows and business conventions are wonderful forums for garnering exposure, but it’s crucial that you have the right marketing materials in place to help you establish those all-important leads. Choosing the right promotional and advertising products can really leverage your business potential. So how do you go about putting together promotional material that will sort you out from the competition at, say, your next marcus evans business convention?

Who is your audience? First, you’ll need to define your target market as accurately as possible. Are you targeting other businesses or individual potential customers? Are you targeting men, women or both? Is your audience mostly comprised of professionals or laymen? What is the age range of your target audience? What common traits and interests define your audience as a whole? What factors might distinguish them into separate groups? Don’t take another step without clearly identifying your market; you may find that you need to do some research before you come to any conclusions.

Then, think about your channel of distribution, as this will often help you determine what promotional products to use. A common distribution outlet – and the one we’ll discuss here – is a trade show or convention-style event, such as those hosted globally by companies like marcus evans. Many marketers find that it’s easier to build an advertising campaign around a specific method of distribution rather than around the promotional products themselves. read more »
